EVVA
EVVA?
founded in Vienna in 1919, EVVA is now one of the leading developers and manufacturers of mechanical and electronic access systems. The company researches, develops, produces and exports all over the world from its headquarters in Vienna. With countless patents and a sustainable corporate strategy, EVVA is looking to the future.
CANCOM Austria emerged from K-Businesscom (formerly Kapsch BusinessCom) at the beginning of 2024. The following case study was written before that and therefore the text was left in the original version.
Business Challenge
EVVA's CNC machine park is very heterogeneous. In future, it should be possible to retrieve, aggregate and forward machine data consistently.
Solution
The starting point was a comprehensive proof of concept based around the open source software Fledge. Data is collected, aggregated and forwarded via the FogLAMP Manage software, supported by an event engine. The data is visualized via an Influx database (Microsoft Azure Cloud), among other things. Fields of application: as an edge multiprotocol gateway in a PLC, in a Raspberry PI, as a data aggregator on an on-premise server, and as an edge multiprotocol gateway and process controller on a computer on a production line.
